Eruption '09



Note: Registration for the ICE event "Eruption" is over.

In car Entertainment (ICE) enthusiasts take note. Valence '09 is organising a friendly competition for its visitors on the 23rd and 24th of November.

The competition titled Eruption '09, will take place at Jyothi Hills, Cheruthuruthy as part of the event of Valence '09 at Jyothi Engineering College.

Participants are expected to be prepping their cars for show from as early as 9 am.
 
We intend to use this opportunity to show the influx of electronics in the field of auto-mobiles.


The competition aims to expose people to the varieties of sound systems available in the market

Photography


Rules
  • Theme: ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION
  • Individual competition.
  • Pictures should be submitted by e-mail to ecsa.jec@gmail.com or through the registration form at the site. 
  • Un-edited Raw photos to be submitted.
  • Camera-made digital images must be uploaded as jpg, gif or png files.
  • Photos of minimum resolution of 3 Megapixels may be submitted.
  • The camera configuration or type should be specified along with the submission.
  • Photos should be no smaller than 5 x 7 inches at 72 pixels/inch.        
  • A maximum of three entries will be accepted per person.    
  • Each entry must have a title and location and may include an optional description.
  • Deadline for receiving entries is 18/11/2009, 6pm. 
  • Results will be announced on the 23rd of November . 
  • The prize must be taken by coming on the 24th of November to the college itself. 
  • The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. 
  • You must supply full details as required above, and comply with all rules to be eligible for the prize(s).  
  • No responsibility is accepted for ineligible entries or entries made fraudulently.      
  • Your entry must be entirely your own original work, not defame anybody nor breach any copyright.  
  • The display rights of the submitted photographs will be under our control. 
  •  Top ten entries will be displayed.      
  •  If your photograph features any recognisable person or people, written permission should be obtained for the image to be entered in the competition and to be published online and in all media as required. Written permission from each recognisable person (or their parents/guardians if under 16) should be submitted for each entry.    
  • If a winning entry is unable to be contacted after reasonable attempts have been made to do so, we reserves the right to either offer the prize to the next best entry.  
  • The committee reserves the right to disqualify any entry which breaches any of these rules or to withhold a prize if in its opinion entries do not reach the required standard.

    Hardware Debugging






    Rules:
    On the Spot Open Circuit Designing Competition.
    Statement:
    You have to design a specific electronics application by using the components provided by us. The application will use the concepts from basic Analog and Digital electronics and to be designed on a Bread Board.
    Event Rules:
       •    Teams of two participants only can contest for this event.
       •    There will be total 2 rounds.
       •    First round will be elimination round with objective type questions from fields of electronics.

       •    Third round will be circuit designing round in which actual application has to be made. No extra components should be added or removed.
       •    There will be time bonus.
       •    All the components and material required for the circuit will be provided by us.
       •    Power supply and other testing devices like multimeter, CRO (if needed) and other tools
            will be made available in a shared hall.



    Prize
    • First Prize Rs.1500

    Rules
    • Maximum two teams from a college
    • Maximum two members in each team
    • First prize        Rs. 4,000/-
    • Second prize    Rs. 2,000/-
    • Third prize       Rs. 1,000/-

    Circuit Designing



    Rules:
    • Event Rules:
         •   Teams of 2 participants only can contest for this event.
         •   There will be total 2 rounds.
         •   First round will be elimination round with objective type questions from fields of electronics.
         •   Second round will be circuit designing round in which actual application has to be made.
         •   Both the rounds are open in nature, means you will be provided question
             sheets/components on the registration desk and you need to submit them back within the specified time limit.
         •   There will be time bonus.
         •   All the components and material required for the circuit will be provided by us.
         •   Power supply and other testing devices like multimeter, CRO (if needed) and other tools will be made available in a shared hall.


    Prize
    • First - Rs.1500

    Project Contest


    RULES  
    • Maximum two members in each team.
    • Student's original working projects.
    • Projects related to electronics field will only be accepted.
    • Equipments will not be provided unless previously informed.
    • Only CROs, FGs, power supplies and PCs will be provided.
    • Required software is to be brought by the participants themselves.

      PRIZE 
    • First  Prize : 4000  
    • Second prize : 2000

    Paper Presentation


    Note: Registrations are open on the 17th of November as well.


    RULES :
    • Maximum of two teams from a college.
    • Maximum two members in each team.
    • Prepare two hard copies and one soft copy in IEEE Format.
    • Any advanced topic in Electronics and Communication 
    • Last date of submission  of softcopy to ecsa.jec@gmail.com on or before 17/11/2009 6pm. You can also use the registration form for submission.
    • Conformation of the approval of your presentation will be mailed  to you on or before 18/11/2009. 
    • Duration of presentation: 20 minuntes - 15 minutes for presentation, 5minutes of discussion.

    The Electronics & Communication Engg. Dept. was started in 2002 and was in the process of its development. The department is headed by Prof. P. Sukumaran who has a good experience in the field of education. Now the department has well sophisticated laboratories with modern equipments and facilities. It conducts technical talks by subject experts frequently. The students are guided by a young and highly qualified team of faculty.     The college started functioning in the year 2002 under The Thrissur Educational Trust founded by the Catholic Archdiocese of Thrissur. The college is approved by AICTE and offers six UG courses.
